Modifying materials for organic photovoltaics at Labkicosmos

25.04.2022

Ranush Durgaryan is an early-stage researcher from Kaunas University of Technology who began her six-month secondment at Labkicosmos in Lille, France, in February 2022.

Labkicosmos is a company specialized in development of organic materials for worldwide customers. The company works on the synthesis of cost-effective compounds especially for devices of organic electronics such as organic light emitting diodes and organic solar cells.

During her secondment, she has been working on the design, synthesis, and study of new organic hole-transporting materials, which can be applied to effective organic as well as perovskite solar cells. In terms of the characterisation of new materials, she is mainly focused on their photophysical, photoelectrical, thermal, and electrochemical properties.

Apart from research work, Ranush loves exploring new places. She thinks that travel provides freedom to live in the moment and to be anyone, go anywhere and do anything. The fact that Lille is located on the border of France and Belgium makes it the perfect opportunity to explore and travel around both countries during weekends.
