Dr. Khrystyna Ivaniuk and Dr. Halyna Petrovska discussing organic polymer research results
Pavlo Stakhira, Iryna Yaremchuk, Halyna Petrovska and Khrystyna Ivaniuk of Lviv Poytechnic National University (LPNU) have been on secondment recently at the Research Institute for Physical Chemistry Problems of the Belarussian State University (BSU).
During their placement, the visiting Ukrainian scientists have undertaken the following work together with their Belarusian hosts:

During their placement, the visiting Ukrainian scientists have undertaken the following work together with their Belarusian hosts:
- Research and testing of organic polymers for passivation of organic layers and OLED structures metal contacts.
- Research of the thermal characteristics of polymers based on carbazole to determine the thermal stability for distributed feedback lasers with electrical and optical pumping.
- Study of the features of polymers melting with linear and branched chain polymerization.
- Analysis of mathematical models to calculate the selective reflection in cholesteric liquid crystals for distributed feedback lasers with electrical and optical pumping.
This has resulted in the following series of alternating copolymers being synthesized by means of free-radical polymerization of two donor and two acceptor monomers:
- Poly(9-(4-vinylphenyl)carbazole-alt-4-(2,5-dioxo-2,5-dihydropyrrol-1-yl)benzonitrile.
- Poly(10-(4-vinylphenyl)phenothiazine-alt-4-(2,5-dioxo-2,5-dihydropyrrol-1-yl)benzonitrile.
- Poly(9-(4-vinylphenyl)carbazole-alt-3-(2,5-dioxo-2,5-dihydropyrrol-1-yl)benzonitrile.
- Poly(10-(4-vinylphenyl)phenothiazine-alt-3-(2,5-dioxo-2,5-dihydropyrrol-1-yl)benzonitrile).
