The MEGA project launched in January 2019 and the official kick-off meeting was held in Kaunas (Lithuania) from January 17-18, 2019. During the two-day event, all the consortium partners were in attendance to discuss the early implementation stages of the project and to engage in discussions for planning MEGA activities.
The project kick-off meeting was hosted by Department of Polymer Chemistry and Technology, Kaunas University of Technology, and the first day commenced with a welcoming address from Leonas Balaševičius, the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovations from KTU. Each of the partners presented their institutions and the expertise which will be drawn from for use in the project.

The second day of the kick-off meeting was held at Santaka Valley, of the research and business centres in the country. It consisted of the project overview and detailed presentations by the WP leaders relating to the different work packages, addressing any concerns the consortium may have had. Overall, the event was an efficient and successful start to the MEGA project.
